A native of Taiwan, Shih-Yi Chiang has performed internationally as both a solo and duo artist.   With identical twin sister Tien-Yi, she has enchanted audiences with an array of works for solo piano and four-hands, drawing from a large body of chamber and concerto repertoire—finely wrought renderings of Mozart, Stravinsky, Rachmaninoff, Mihaud and others.   Her appearances have spanned the globe, in venues that have included the National Recital Hall in Taipei and Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall for a duo performance that was praised by New York Concert Review for "remarkable balance and fluid handling throughout.  Any pianist with duet experience could tip hat to them who have so carefully and fruitfully honed their skills in this medium.”  Chiang holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the Juilliard School, where she studied with Josef Raieff and legendary Russian pianist Oxana Yablonskaya. In 2007, she received her Doctor of Musical Arts from the Graduate Center, City University of New York under the tutelage of Peter Basquin. Currently, she resides in New York City where she has a large class of private piano students on Upper West Side.
